a personal project made in october of 2021. each day a new illustration would be made and the series of hands stuck, so i took that theme and ran with it.

fun fact: hands are one of my favorite things to draw/illustrate.

helping hands

protection - hand holding keys between fingers in case of self defense. commentary of being in a female body living in the world that is dominated by men and masculine energy.
ur opinions - finger pointing at a child-like written phrase that calls out a reminder that your opinions are not facts :)
tax the rich - hands under a crown that calls out the need to tax the rich and end the corruption in our society at large.
everything is a scam - heart hands sarcastically around the phrase nothing is real, everything is a scam, written in colorful child-like letters.
checking in - hand holding phone that is asking if you really should be checking social media. a commentary on how the media can lead to the picking-apart of ones self.
honey - hand holding a stick with honey on the end of it that is dripping off of the end.
bang, color - hand facing up with "bangs" of colors popping out of it in bright colors.
imagination - two hands holding up a rainbow. showing the sense of hope, inspiration and imagination.
magic of the pen - hand gripping a pencil/pen with bandaged fingers. showing that the expression of creating can leave some damage but in the end all the creativity flowed out and can be out of body now.
